Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 9, 2026 (Brazilian Portuguese: Política de Privacidade)

This policy explains which personal data the Borah app (iOS and Android) and the service behind it process, for what purposes, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how you exercise your rights under the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law No. 13,709/2018). The Brazilian Portuguese version is the reference version.

1. Who is the controller

The controller of your personal data is Eduardo Torres Lopes, who operates Borah. Contact for any privacy matter: privacidade@borahsp.com.

Borah operates as a small-scale processing agent (ANPD Resolution CD/ANPD No. 2/2022) and therefore does not appoint a data protection officer. The channel for data subjects is privacidade@borahsp.com.

2. Data we process, why, and the legal basis

We process only what the app needs to work. Each item below says where it comes from, what it is for, and the legal basis (LGPD art. 7).

We do not collect the advertising identifier (IDFA or AAID), we do not read your contacts or photos, we do not collect background location, and we do not process sensitive personal data (LGPD art. 5, II) such as sexual orientation or health data. Date of birth and gender are treated as ordinary personal data.

3. Who we share it with (processors and third parties)

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers. We use the providers below, which process data on our behalf or which the app contacts directly.

4. International transfers

Some of the providers above (for example Cloudflare, Expo, Apple, Google and the e-mail provider) may process data outside Brazil. In those cases the transfer takes place to perform the contract with you and with the safeguards of LGPD art. 33. The providers and their countries are: Cloudflare, Expo, Apple, Google and Resend (United States) and Open-Meteo (Switzerland). Transfers rely on the data protection contractual clauses adopted by these providers (LGPD art. 33, II, b, and ANPD Resolution CD/ANPD No. 19/2024).

5. How long we keep it

6. How to delete your account

What may remain after deletion: technical logs and backups for the periods in section 5, and diagnostics and statistics records already sent to our tools. These records are pseudonymous: they are linked only to your internal identifier, not your e-mail, and are deleted automatically at the end of the periods in section 5. Deletion does not affect copies that Expo, Apple, Google or the e-mail provider keep under their own policies.

7. Your rights (LGPD art. 18)

You may ask, at any time and free of charge, for:

How to exercise them: send your request to privacidade@borahsp.com, preferably from your account e-mail so we can confirm the request is yours. We reply within 15 days.

Data export: you can get a copy, in a structured format (JSON), of your account, profile, preferences and activity data, without the password, session tokens and notification token. In the app, at Perfil › Conta e Notificações › Exportar meus dados (Profile › Account & Notifications › Export my data), you generate this copy instantly and can save or share it.

If you think we did not resolve your request, you may lodge a complaint with the Brazilian data protection authority (ANPD): www.gov.br/anpd.

8. Minors

The minimum age to use Borah is the one shown in the app store age rating, and never under 13. The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app lists bars, clubs and other events that may involve alcohol, whose sale to people under 18 is prohibited in Brazil. Adolescents' data is processed in their best interest (LGPD art. 14). If you are responsible for a child or adolescent and believe they sent us data, write to privacidade@borahsp.com and we will delete it.

9. Sponsored content

The Home screen may show sponsored content, labeled as such. The app does not use third-party advertising networks, does not read the device advertising identifier, and does not track you across other apps and sites. We do not pass personal data to advertisers through the app. In our own statistics we count how many times each sponsored item was shown and tapped, associated with your internal user identifier. Reports we send to advertisers contain only aggregate numbers, never individual-level data. Sponsored content is not targeted based on your individual profile; at most by city or event category.

We may update this policy. The version in force is the one published on this page, with the "Last updated" date at the top. For a relevant change we will notify you in the app.
